End of an Era

Sad news in that Karma, which has been our home since the beginning of the night way back in '08 has closed down. Needless to say that means there won't be a MYOB this month but we're on the prowl for a new venue. Stay Tuned.

Adventures In Felt-Tip

My regular flyer designer has more important things to be getting on with this month, so it was down to me to dig out my design skills. Basically, if I made you a mix tape between about 2000 and 2005 you probably are already familiar with the result. Let's hope this never happens again, because I've got no idea what I'll do next time.

Do You Believe In Rapture?

Matthew Perpetua, from the superlative Fluxblog has compiled a free download of all the best bits from Sonic Youth's last six albums. It's well worth downloading if you're not familiar with these particular albums, or even as an introduction to the band if you've previously been daunted by their vast back catalogue.

Here it is.

Don't Look Back

Just nursing a hangover from last night's MYOB. Was a bit quieter than I'd expected, but there's enough regulars these days to ensure the dancefloor is never empty.

Here's a Spotify playlist of what we played in the last two hours. Just looking at it again, I feel less guilty about not playing a few people's requests as well over half of that is stuff people asked for.

Next MYOB is May 28th.

How apt.

MYOB is TONIGHT.
